Beauty Therapy Specialist Certificate in A&P and Swedish Body Massage Course

This is an intense course which is designed to train candidates to provide expert 'Swedish Body Massage Treatments' to the highest standards. This enables candidates to insure themselves to work in the beauty industry, independently or as a mobile therapist. This also enables the student to obtain licensing via local council and or local government to carry out specialist treatments.

You will also receive a professional training manual together with a step-by-step treatment procedure DVD as a reference tool to help guide you through the treatments you have learned. This is yours to keep to give you the complete confidence needed to provide these treatments within the beauty industry.

Week 1

Full salon Health & Safety. Methods used to sterilise and sanitise salon tools and equipment. Client consultations, contra-indications, skin diseases & disorders. A&P of relevant bones, muscles, circulatory, lymphatic, nervous systems.Treatment preparation and trolley set up. All materials and their use. Positioning the client for treatment. Various massage mediums. Use and application of carrier oils, benefits and effects of massage on the body. Contra-indications to using oils and pre-blended aromatherapy oil products.

Demonstrations to massage routines and techniques on arms and legs. Practice session for students to perform massage routines and techniques on arms and legs. Aftercare and homecare advice.

Week 2

(Mini assessment on previous week). Product knowledge to skin types and professional products used. All materials and their use. Types of pre-blended oils suitable for relaxation, scene of well being and uplift. Identification of general therapeutic effects of essential oils.

Choosing pre-blended oils to meet emotional and physical needs. Use and application of carrier oils for various skin types. Full demonstrations to massage techniques and routines for back, neck and shoulder massage. Aftercare and homecare advice. Practice session for students to perform back, neck and shoulder massage.

Week 3

(Mini assessment on previous week). The physical and physiological effects of massage on clients, adapting your massage routines to suit individual clients. Combining all massage routines and techniques learned and performing a full body massage treatment including client consultation, contra-actions and indications, aftercare and homecare advice. Practice session for students to perform full body massages.

Course Duration - (1 full day per week) over 3 weeks from 9.30am - 3.30pm

Certificate Gained - Beauty Therapy Specialist in Swedish Body Massage including Anatomy and Physiology - (Plus 48 CPD Points)

This course requires - 20 hours home study and to complete 3 case studies.
